Hi family, welcome to my channel! For those who don't know me I'm Larissa and I'm married to Branden and we live here in Canada. If you reached this channel through this video I want to invite you to be part of our family and feel at home because here there is room for everyone !!!
Right in the last video I told you about our move from Brazil to Canada so we arrived here in Canada and it got real, right ?! Now the reality really begins. Branden's mom picked us up at the airport and brought us to our home, we arrived here and it was a complete mess, mercy. I'll post a video next week here for you showing the situation of this house, it was desperate! But that's it, we got here and life goes on right? In truth and life that begins, because now we're here alone, it's me and Branden and we have to get by, we have to make food, clean the house and be responsible adults! But what do we need to make food? To buy food! So the first thing we did went to the supermarket. I filmed some things for you I'll put it here, but it wasn't that wonderful vlog, you know, I was talking about with the super interactive camera, right ?! It was not so! Have patience with me that I will improve, in the name of Jesus, amen!
Branden and I were at Walmart trying to show you everything and at the same time shopping. Now stop and think, guys, me and Branden at the supermarket with no idea what to buy,
we got there, we fell down at the supermarket, we need food but what do we going to buy, darling? I had no experience with supermarket, Branden much less. An interesting fact that I will tell you about Branden here is that before he went to Brazil he ate one meal a day, people because he was lazy, lazy to do, what does he do then? I would get there at lunch, I don’t know, or at dinner time and he ate all the calories he needed for the day in just one meal, he mixed avocado with mayonnaise and tuna and I don’t know what else I ate, people. Look who got here, guys!
Larissa: Say hi Branden.
Branden: Hi family!
Larissa: Say it like this: I don't know how to buy groceries "
Branden: "I don't buy ... what?"
Larissa: I don't know how to shop at the supermarket.
Branden: "I'm very good at the supermarket"
Larissa: You? Now? Are you okay now?
Branden: "No, all the time!"
Larissa: All the time? The first time were you good?
Branden: "Yes, I will be shopping for many years before you."
Larissa: Ah, for many years? But what did you buy at the supermarket? Avocado... Avocado and what else did you buy?
Branden:"I buy avocado, tuna, mayonnaise, pickles"
Larissa: Pickles?! Hmmm
Branden: "Yes"
Larissa: That's it, right, what did you buy ?!
See, guys ?! Branden won't let me lie he just bought tuna, avocado and mayonnaise and that pickle, oh bad thing! So think about our situation, people, Branden and I there, two with no
supermarket experience . I didn't know what to buy the Branden didn't know what to buy, I didn't know the price of anything, not even in Brazil I knew how much more here in Canada, if the deal was cheap if the deal was expensive. It was very complicated and very fun at the same time, because there were two newlyweds there that made us aware of what we were doing and detail that nobody made a shopping list so it was all in the head, we looked there, oh do I like carrots? Ah I like it, I do! But it will be how many carrots we need to buy to spend the month? Do not know!
Do not know! That day it hurt another tour of the supermarket to see that the supermarket had
what the market didn’t have, to see more or less the price, to see, I don't know, it was just for kicking. Then we downloaded an application that helped us compare prices between supermarkets, to find out if we I was paying more or cheaper. And a really cool thing here, people,
I don't think there is a price match in Brazil . Walmart, which is a of the biggest supermarket chains here does a price match, which is what, guys?!
If you have any other market in the region you live in that has the cheapest price in than theirs, for example, like this: you want to buy tuna, then at Walmart you can see that the price it's $ 2.30 then you go to your app and then you saw that at the supermarket do Zezinho, ok, a supermarket that is in your neighborhood the price of tuna is $ 2.05 then when you are going to pass the
tuna in the cashier you show for cashier your application there. "Look here, at Zezinho's supermarket the tuna is $ 2.05 "So, what's going to happen? The tuna at Walmart $ 2.30 is going to be $ 2.05. So this is really cool, we learned that and now we’re saving horrors! But that was it, guys, we went there to buy more or less as we could, trying to guess what we needed, what we didn't need, calling my mother-in-law when we didn't know. After we spent hours trying to decide what we were taking what we were carrying, it was finally time to go shopping, and here something that I found very cool, very interesting, that I particularly I never saw in Brazil that you spend your shopping alone. You're the cashier's clerk! Here you have two options: or you go to queue spend your shopping with a cashier, right, with the person there who passes the food for you or you can spend alone. And Branden prefers to spend a thousand times alone for two reasons, first he doesn't have to stand in any queue, right, it's much faster, and according to that they don't have to interact with anyone, he does it there all alone, pay and leave. So I found it very interesting, yourself pass the food, you scan the barcode, for the food you have what weight do you put their name on the screen, weigh and for the foods that are per unit just put the name of the food and the amount you took and pass, people.
When Branden first told me about it I thought: "the people must put a lot of leg in this, right ?!" But I think not because there's a camera that is filming you and an employee is there from afar looking more or less to see if you're not stealing anything, right. It is very interesting and much faster, guys, you can do everything yourself, there is no contact, this time of coronavirus is even better, because then you don't have to be there close to the person passing the food. So family, we just got home, we came back from Walmart where we did the shopping. Total purchases was $ 231.08 and I'm going to show you what we bought now! The first purchase was aloe vera, aloe vera you had in Brazil! A box with 12 eggs, 450g of mozzarella cheese, a bag of seedless grape, green grape, a package with 3 heads of lettuce, a zucchini, 3 lemons, avocado, 3 heads of garlic and we also bought tuna, chicken breast, chives, tomatoes, raisins, carrots, this so much onion, orange, this is flaxseed flour and chia, chia seed, corn, 2 cans of corn, this pack of this size of absorbent, comes 33! Pickles I don't like, mayonnaise, and I also bought natural peanut butter, this one has pieces and this is a paste, Branden bought it too, that he loves, flavored carbonized water, flavored, I don’t know!
Branden bought 2 DVDs, this one was $ 5 and this was $ 8. We also buy cell phone film, toothbrush , toothbrush protector, the protector it was more expensive than the toothbrush.
I bought this one to test, wax and back here I don't know if you can see it right here, look, there
is the paper that you said you can reuse, you can use it up to 3 times, you wash it, let's see how it works, I never tested it, it's to test. Tonico, and this one is the most important... "What do you call it here?" Moisturizing! Because it’s very cold here , if you don’t rub your face it hurts, everything is hurt, cut everything, so I bought the moisturizer and the tonic this brand here at Nívea because my mother-in-law said it’s good, so I bought it to test it. Nail file that was very expensive, it was $ 11 but they say that it is very good, that it is the best one that has and it lasts forever, so let's see, you know, hopefully it will last, because $ 11 is very expensive! And we also bought 4 ... "What do you call that?" Lip balm, lip balm, 4 lip balms because it’s very cold and accurate. Those were our purchases! Where's the receipt? Ah, it's here on the floor! The receipt zooms in here, Branden.
We bought it at Walmart and with the fees, it was $ 231.08. But that's it, people. This was a video, it was a different video, I didn't know a lot to talk about, I didn't know much to show, but I hope you enjoyed it.
